Dialysis - is the measure used to replace some of the lost function when the kidney fails. It helps balance the fluid and electrolytes in the body. It also helps excrete waste products.

Nowadays, with more and more developed medical technology, supply and better understanding of renal failure and dialysis, patients can be expected to live healthy lifestyle, that can keeps then engage in activities normally with just requirement to have dialysis performed at regular frequencies and intervals.

Ideally patients with advanced renal failure being treated with hemodialysis to maintain optimum health should have the treatment at least three times per week. Each session of treatment normally lasts about four hours.

When they travel, they may arrange for their hemodialysis sessions to be done at different places according to their schedules and destinations. With their doctors involved in the arrangement, today's hemodialysis patients enjoy lifestyle that allows them to travel long distance including overseas.

2 major functions of kidney:

•  It maintains relatively constant environment for cell to function properly by means of excretion of waste products and balancing the conservation and excretion rate for water and electrolytes.

Do you treat patients who are HIV positive and patients with hepatitis at the same machine?

Answer:    Although patients are treated on the same machines, disposable devices are always used one time and thrown away. Optimal care is used in universal precautions to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases.

Is it possible to do the dialysis treatment in the evening?

Answer:    Only in emergency cases.
Regular hours are from 8:00am-18:00pm Monday to Friday and Sunday.

What's the highest volume of water the patients in your hospital are allowed to pass in one hour?

Answer:    Approximately 0.5-1.5 litres depending on the individual.

Answer:    Yes, a doctor is always on duty and the Hemodialysis center is very close to CCU, so we have all facilities available.
